Itinerary

First Day: Puno

When you arrive in Puno we will help you with your luggage and take you to your hotel. You will have the morning free to discover the city, however in the afternoon we will do a half-day visit to the Chullpas de Sillustani.

Second Day: Puno – Copacabana – Island of Sun (South) – Complex Inti Wata – Island of the Sun (North) – Spend Night – Copacabana – Puno

After breakfast we will make our down the highway to the Sanctuary of Copacabana, to board at catamaran (type of boat), from their we will cruise along lake Titicaca to the Island of Sun, the heart of the Incan Empire. On this legendary island you will visit the Gardens, the Stone Steps and the Fountain of the Incas, afterwards we will visit the inland part of the island to visit the complex Inti Wata culture. The first tourist attraction in Bolivia is an underground cultural museum where you will learn about the traditional medicines and rafts made from reeds. It is also possible that during the trip to Inti Wata that we can board a large traditional raft and get an incredible panoramic view of the Incan palace of Pilkokaina. Once again we will board the catamaran to go to Callapampa, and small town with a small population located in the northern part of the Islands of the Sun; where you will also get the opportunity to spend half the day with a local family and learn about their everyday lives. Lunch is included.

The locals of Chillapampa have began hosting tourists through a homestay program ran by local organizations. During your visit you will see the school, go to a typical local’s house, visit a small museum, participate in local folklore demonstrations and take a ride in their fishing boats. The program also includes a small hike to the temple of Chinkana.

Third Day: Copacabana – Puno

The next morning we take the catamaran across the majestic area of Copacabana after a delicious buffet breakfast. We will then visit the sanctuary for a couple of hours, eat lunch and return to Puno, where you spend the night in a hotel.

Fourth Day: Full day in the Floating Islands of Uros and Taquile

Very early in the morning (6:40am) we will set sail from the port in Puno to the Floating Islands of Uros. Once we arrive we will float on rafts made from reeds to the larger lake towards the island of Taquile, once we arrive at the island we will descend a large stair case that will direct us to the small town of the Island. There we will visit the main artesian market where you can find a variety of handmade tapestries, clothes and other incredible vibrant and multicolored works of art. It is very impressive to watch all the people hand sown all their artwork.

In the afternoon we will begin out journey back to Puno, first we will walk down a 530 stone stairs until we reach the principal port of Chilcano, and then take a 2.5 hour boat ride back to Puno.

Fifth Day: Puno – AirPort

After you eat breakfast we will take the airport at your requested time.
