Description of trip to Machu Picchu

We will pick you up from your hotel 1 hour before the time your train departs from Cusco, we will take you to the strain station located in the locality of Poroy (30 min from center) where you will board your train with the company PERURAIL; which will take you to small town Aguas Cllientes, from where you will ascend to Machu Picchu.

When you arrive at the station one of our guides will be there to meet you and take you to the bus station, where you will board a buss that will take you 400m up a zigzag road. After a 30-minute bus ride you will arrive at the world wonder that is “The Sanctuary of Machu Picchu, know as the Lost City of The Incas. Having arrived at Machu Picchu you will pass through security where you will show your ticket and then begin your guided tour. In the tour will visit the principal sections of the city such as: the main plaza, the circular tower, the sacred sundial, the royal rooms, the temple of the three rooms and the cemeteries. The tour usually lasts two hours, but after the tour you will have free time to walk the city by yourselves, or your can return to the town of Aguas Calientes and eat, shop and enjoy the scenery.

Note: It is possible to use the bolt system, if it its available it can be used through the company PERURAIL. If this is the case then you will take ground transportation from Cusco to Ollantaytambo, and from Ollantaytambo you will go to Aguas Calientes. The return trip will be from Aguas Calientes to Ollantaytambo by train and then ground transportation from Ollantaytambo back to Cusco, and our company will be in the charge of all ground transportation to and from Cusco.

1. The Expedition Train:

The seats on this train have just been remolded with indigenous pattern to give the train a more Incan atmosphere, and has plenty of storage place for your backpacks and necessary items to properly enjoy visiting Machu Picchu. This train also has drinks and food that can be bought on the train.

2. The Vista Dome (View Dome) Train:

This is the fastest and most comfortable way to visit Machu Picchu. On this train you can enjoy delicious snacks and hot or cold beverages on the newly renovated train cars that are equipped with glass walls and ceilings so you can get an amazing panoramic view of all the landscape. On this train you feel apart of an incredible journey where you have the opportunity to take some of the most amazing pictures of your life.

3. The Luxury Train of Hiram Bingham:

The train leaves Cusco in the morning, and the guests are served a delicious brunch while taking a spectacular trip through the changing landscapes of the Andes. After a small ascent into the outskirts of Cusco the train begins to descend into the Sacred Valley and then winds through the jungle to Aguas Calientes.
