Itinerary
First Day: Arequipa
We will pick you up and take you to your hotel upon your arrival in Arequipa. At 9:00am we will visit the Monastery of Santa Catalina, The Plaza de Armas, The Viewpoint of Carmen Alto and Yanahuara, Paucarpata and Molino de Savandia. Stay the night in Arequipa.
Second Day: Day in the Colca Canyon (First Day)
Eat breakfast and then leave for a 2-day trip in Colca Canyon. We will leave Arequipa in the direction of Yura, passing through the hills of Chachani, Pampa de Arrieros, Pampa Cañahaus National Reserve where the slender vicuna (south American Antelope) begin to appear in large numbers. We continue through the areas of Vizcachani, the plains of Toccra where you will be able to observe a multitude of different birds, and then we will drive along the border of the Chucura crater that will take us to Patapampa (4800 m) and the viewpoint of the Andes; where you can see the volcanoes that surround the city of Arequipa. At around 1:30 we will descend to the town of Chivay to eat lunch, and then we will take you to your hotel in Colca.
Third Day: Day in Cocla (Second Day)
We will eat breakfast and the at approximately 6:15am we will leave to visit the Condor Cross (41 km from Chivay), from where you will have an incredible view of the Canyon, and be able to see the majestic condor in its natural habitat. We will then return to visit the towns of Pinchollo, Maca, Achoma Yanque and the viewpoints of Antahuilque and Choquetico.
And mid day we will arrive at Chivay.
Afterwards we will continue towards Arequipa through the Patapampa route, a flatlands that almost reaches 4800 meters. In the flatlands of Patapampa we will find the Viewpoint of the Andes, where you will be able to get an amazing view of the Chila Mountain Range with the Mismi, a closest peaks are Chicura and Huarancote, and the farthest peaks are Ubinas, Misti Chanchani, Ampato, Sabancaya and Hualca Hualca. We continue to drive once again along the Chucura crater and head towards the plans of Toccra. After about a 4-hour trip we will arrive at the city of Arquipa where you spend the night.
Fourth Day: Arequipa – Lima
After you eat breakfast we will take the airport at your requested time.
