Itinerary
This tour begins at approximately 9:00am when we pick you up from your hotel to have a guided tour of the Sacred Valley of the Incas. We travel along the Vilcanota river to have a panoramic view of the Incan city of Pisac, we will visit Pisac’s famous outdoor textile market where you can closely get to know the customs and traditions of the local people and bargain prices with the vendors. Next we will continue to travel along the shores of the Vilcanota River to the town of Urubamba.
We will then eat lunch in a local restaurant of the Sacred Valley. In the afternoon after lunch we will visit the fortress and city of Ollantaytambo, which was constructed to guard the entrance of the sacred valley and protect further towns from the invasion of indigenous tribes from the jungle. Then we will have the opportunity to walk to small streets of Ollantaytambo where you can get a sense of how this small town served as a military, cultural and religious center during the Incan Empire. On the way back to Cusco we will stop in the picturesque town on Cincheron where you we will visit the remains of Tupac Inca Yupanqui’s home. You will admire the well-preserved Incan Wall, the main plaza and we will also visit the beautiful colonial temple that was build at the base of an Incan building. After Chinchero we will return to your hotel in Cusco.
